JH girls win and boys take second in SEC Jamboree

Game Date
Oct 12, 2016

Boys:
The Bedford junior high boys cross country team took second at the final SEC cross country meet on Wednesday, losing to rival Saline by only 6 points.  The 3rd place team Chelsea was 70 points behind Bedford, and the other 5 league teams were even farther behind.

The amazing Ty Smith continued his dominance by winning his 5th meet in a row and proving himself as the best runner in the league this year.  Ty is also one of the top runners in the entire state this year.  Micah Scheffer took 4th overall, followed by Aiden Burns, Collin Balla, Ethan Lingle, and Daniel Stieber.  Daniel managed to run his best time ever on the hilly and windy course.  The boys would like to congratulate the girls on their undefeated SEC team season!  Go Broncos.  The teams have 2 meets left this year, wish them luck as they finish out very successful years.

Girls:
The cross country girls are SEC conference champions, going undefeated after their third win at the SEC Jamboree yesterday.  This is their first sweep of the conference in ten years.  It is an impressive accomplishment, which took dedication and heart from every member of the team.  Belle Easton placed first among 153 runners.  Molly Koviack, Macy Miscikowski, Maddy Heinrichs, and Olivia Kruk placed 9th-12th respectively.  Caia Albain, Kate Conlan, Leah Driehorst, and Abby Klawonn all had PR’s.  If you see a cross country runner today, congratulate her on the undefeated record.  Go Broncos.

The 6th graders competed in the 3rd SEC Jamboree last night. Girls with personal best times include:
Carmin Zink, Carly Zimmerman, Hannah Smith, Allison Shepler, Sam Sexton, Harmony Molina, Macy DeGrace, Ally Betkey.
