GIBRALTAR CARLSON: 5
The Mules had clearly surprised Carlson a few weeks back with a 3-2 win, and the Marauders were eager to even the score on their home ice. A ferocious first period set the pace for a 5-2 Carlson victory, but the score was only 1-0 in favor of the hosts at the horn. The lead widened to 4-1 by the end of the second period, with Dale Davis getting the lone Bedford goal on a power play.
Davis scored again in the waning seconds of the game, assisted by David Jeffers. Carlson had a parade to the penalty box during the game, but the Mules only capitalized on one of their 10 power play opportunities. The Marauders were 1 for 4 on their chances. The two teams will meet again in the first round of the MHSAA playoffs in Monroe on March 1.
