Game #1 – Bedford 2, Royal Oak Shrine Catholic 2
A new season brings with it a lot of new opponents as the Mules play an all-Michigan schedule. The opening game saw Bedford travel to Royal Oak to play Shrine Catholic. Junior Bob Bobroski had the hot hand in the 2-2 tie, assisting on the first goal and then scoring the final goal of the game.
After a scoreless first period, Dale Davis gave Bedford the lead four minutes after the break. The Mules took the 1-0 lead into the second intermission. Shrine knotted the game six minutes into the third period, then scored again two minutes later for a 2-1 lead. Bobroski took a feed from Ian Andres and put the equalizer in the net just 81 seconds later.
Shrine outshot Bedford 27-17. Ethan Moore and Noah Smalley shared goalkeeping duties for the Mules.
