Bedford 9, Maumee 2

Bedford wasted no time in taking control of its game against the Maumee Panthers, building a 5-0 lead after the first period, then cruising to a 9-2 win.

Seniors Grant Harper and Darryl Kuchcinski opened the scoring for the Mules in the first four minutes, then Kuchcinski made it 3-0 around the 10 minute mark.  Sophomores Ethan Aubry and Bob Bobroski added late goals.

Five minutes into the second period Bedford had upped its lead to 8-0, and another “mercy rule” game seemed to be in the works.  Ian Andres, Lucas Haberkamp, and Jake Stark scored those goals.  Maumee finally picked up their first goal, then Jacob Schulty got that one back to make it 9-1.  A late Panther goal made it 9-2 at the second intermission.  There was no scoring in the third period.

The Mules outshot Maumee 42-11 for the night, with Ethan Moore picking up the victory in goal for Bedford.  Schulty, Aubry, Andres, and David Jeffers each picked up a pair of assists in the game.
