The Bedford Boys Cross Country team were champions of the Hillsdale Invitational on Friday, September 4.

The Kicking Mules finished with 18 points, followed by Fraser with 43 points and Ypsilanti Arbor Preparatory with 85 points.

Senior Brendan McClanahan was meet champion on the course that wove through the rolling hills, finishing in a season best 17:06. Michael Greeley, a sophomore, crossed the line in second in a time of 17:30. Senior Greg Lingle crossed as the third Mule, taking fourth overall, freshman Cade Sutterfield was fourth for the team and fifth overall, and sophomore Alex Zittleman finished fifth for the team and sixth overall. The team posted five season bests and six lifetime best times on the day.

"It was a tough and challenging course on a humid day, so I'm not concerned with our times at this point. I was impressed by the gutsy racing, from top to bottom. That was our goal today, and they met that goal with big hearts." said Coach Earl.

Great job guys!
