The Bedford Girls Varsity Soccer program recognized its six seniors before Monday's contest against Pioneer.  The visiting Pioneers (9-2-4) posted a 2-0 win over the Kicking Mules (4-12-1) in Bedford's final home game of the season.

Each senior was able to recognize one teacher who made a significant impact on their high school career:

#2 Taya Bailey chose Mrs. Abby Stanger; #17 Chelsea Bauders selected Mr. Bob Weaver; #11 Marley Brereton chose Mrs. Lisa Heartz; #6 Erin Jacobs selected Mrs. Erin Gill; #9 Cara Stang chose Mrs. Jan Scott; and #5 Maddie Weiss selected Mr. Steve Ball.

Every member of the entire Bedford squad played their hearts out for the seniors in their final home game

Brereton started the match making her lone appearance of the season after surgery and in a nice moment all the Pioneer players congratulated her.Bedford junior goalkeeper Grace Brown eclipsed her previous single-season school record for saves set in 2013 with her first stop of the match.  The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute on a goal by Rachel Hunter off an assist from Kara Monchamp. Borwn made two saves in the opening 40 minutes and stopped three more Pioneer shots after intermission.  Pioneer scored its second goal on a direct kick in the 51st minute by Ashley Zugay.Both Bailey and junior Sadie Oswald had two shot attempts for the Kicking Mules who were out-shot 13-8 in the contest. Turning in solid performances on defense were Jacobs and freshman Kate Chuhy. Bedford will conclude the regular season with a 5:30 p.m. match on Thursday at Monroe.
